LOGAN TOWNSHIP YARD WASTE COLLECTION FOR SPRING 2026 HAS ENDED.

The Logan Township offers curbside collection of leaves and brush for residents in the Spring and throughout most of October and November every year. Residents will be able to bag their leaves and yard trimmings for collection. Residents can always take these materials to either the Buckhorn Recycling & Compost Facility or the Duncansville Recycling & Compost Facility.

Materials should be placed at the curbside for collection by 7:00 a.m.

 

Street Sweeping

March 16 – April 17

 

Spring Leaf Collection

April 6 – April 24

Rake your leaves to the edge of your property (along the road) and the leaves will be picked up by the Township’s Leaf Vacuum and Collector.

• Put your leaves in paper bags and place them along the road for pick up.
• Any paper bag may be used. Large paper yard bags are available for purchase at local stores.
• Bags over 50lbs. will not be collected.
• Please do not use tape to seal the bag.

 

Spring Brush Collection

April 20

Brush must be out by 7 AM, April 20, or it will not be picked up.  Brush Collection will be one round of the Township.

• Brush should be less than six feet in length and less than three inches in diameter.
• Pile brush & limbs together. Small twigs must be bagged – separate from the leaves.
• The collection crews cannot collect whole cut trees.

October 12 – November 25

Christmas Tree Recycling

Live undecorated trees can be dropped off at the highway yard located at 100 Chief Logan Circle in Altoona from December 26 to January 19.

Trees can also be dropped off during regular business hours at either the Buckhorn Facility located on Black Snake Road or the Duncansville Facility located on Dunnings Highway.
