Gary and Judy Edmunson of Greenwood in Logan Township were added to our list of Recycling Rewards winner at the township supervisors' meeting in September, joining Tyrone Borough winners, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Romano, and Joan Kozak of Eldorado neighborhood in Altoona. As the first winners in each municipality, all were presented a $100 gift certificate for being a “Perfect Recycler” by IRC representatives Dave Rhoa, Courtney Rhoades and Mark Geis. John Brenner will be presenting to the first winner of Hollidaysburg Borough in October. The program kicked off in the spring in the City of Altoona, Hollidaysburg Borough, Logan Township, and Tyrone Borough, with the hope of finding perfect residential recycling bins in each community. Winners will be chosen every few weeks through the spring, summer and fall, ending on November 18, 2011, just after America Recycles Day.
The Recycling Office will perform curbside audits in randomly selected neighborhoods every other week in search of the perfect recycling bin.
